Acid Tub simply performed a pair of reveals of their hometown of New Orleans, marking the sludge-metal band’s first live shows in 28 years.
As beforehand reported, Acid Tub introduced their reunion in October of final 12 months, initially to play the since-canceled 2025 Sick New World competition. Within the months since, they’ve added a number of competition and headlining dates to their itinerary (choose up tickets right here), with the primary two reveals happening at The Fillmore in New Orleans on Friday (April twenty fifth) and Wednesday (April thirtieth).

The Friday present marked 28 years to the day that Acid Tub performed their final live performance, an April twenty fifth, 1997 gig on the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The band performed an an identical 10-song set at each Fillmore reveals, break up pretty evenly between their solely two studio albums: 1994’s When the Kite String Pops (4 songs) and 1996’s Paegan Terrorism Techniques (six songs).

For the 2025 reveals, three of the band’s basic members — lead singer Dax Riggs, guitarist-vocalist Sammy “Pierre” Duet (now of Goatwhore), and guitarist-vocalist Mike Sanchez — are performing alongside drummer Zack Simmons and bassist Alex Bergeron.
Acid Tub broke up in 1997 after bassist Audie Pitre and his mother and father have been tragically killed by a drunk driver in a automotive crash that 12 months. At each New Orleans reveals, Acid Tub devoted the tune “Scream of the Butterfly” to Pitre.
Sadly, one other onetime member of the band, keyboardist Tommy Viator, died in 2024.
