I know I’m not the only one who IMMEDIATELY thought of The Streets when Blair’s vocals entered the mix on Because of Art’s “Shift Focus.”
After years of playing their music in my DJ sets, it’s lovely to see UK-based act Because of Art finally releasing their debut album. The single that has snatched my attention has certainly been “Shift Focus”. I love that the mood, along with the vocal delivery, works so well together, as there is this heavy, dejected vibe hanging over the experience that is offset by the upbeat drums. Blair’s vocals across the chorus are slow and dreamy, especially when the drums fall silent and the spotlight lands on his voice. Definitely my favorite Because of Art release so far!
