Oscar-nominated actor Andra Day has been tapped to play Athena, the Greek Goddess of Knowledge and Annabeth’s mother, within the upcoming second season of Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The casting was revealed at D23 in Brazil with a video of Day in character posted throughout the present’s social media accounts.
Visitor star Day is becoming a member of new recurring forged Tamara Good as Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus, and Daniel Diemer as Percy’s half brother Tyson, in addition to returning sequence regulars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, and Dior Goodjohn.
