Toxic is witnessing pretty good sales at the box office; however, the pace has slowed down on Day 3. As of 11:30 PM (Sunday, August 23), the Yash starrer sold over 104K tickets in the top two national chains, PVR Inox and Cinepolis, for the opening day alone. Of this, around 89K admissions were recorded at PVR Inox, while Cinepolis sold around 15K tickets so far.
On Friday, the way the film started its advances, it seemed that it could aim for 400-500K sales at PIC (PVR Inox and Cinepolis), but things have slowed down since then. It is now moving towards a 250K finish at the national chains; with a strong finish, it can have a chance at hitting the 300K mark.
Co-starring Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, Akshay Oberoi, and others, the movie is all set for a superb start at the box office. If all goes well, the Yash starrer will score the biggest Hindi opening for a standalone Pan-India film. However, a lot will depend on its spot bookings and word-of-mouth. If the movie manages to bag a positive reception, it will see an instant boost in its sales.
Mounted on a huge scale under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the gangster action drama marks the return of Yash on the big screen after a long gap of four years. The fate of Toxic will be crucial for the actor.
