One of Prime Video’s most popular action series, which its creator hails as being proudly “anti-woke,” continues to dominate on streaming. Prime Video has made itself a must-have streaming service for action fans, thanks to shows like Reacher, Invincible, The Boys, Fallout, and Citadel. But, one action series that has remained a steadfast favorite on the streamer is the prequel to the already immensely successful The Terminal List, aptly titled The Terminal List: Dark Wolf.

After debuting in August of this year, Dark Wolf has remained the subject of constant re-watches from fans of Jack Carr’s action thriller series. In fact, the series has remained on Prime Video’s Top 10 chart since its release on August 27. At the time of writing, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf has sat in the top ten for 84 days, currently holding 10th place.

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is set seven years before the core The Terminal List series. Both Taylor Kitsch and Chris Pratt, who starred in the original show, made the jump back in time for the prequel, which follows Kitsch’s Ben Edwards as he moves from the Navy SEALs to the CIA. Joining them for the series are Tom Hopper, Luke Hemsworth, Dar Salim, Robert Wisdom, and Rona-Lee Shim’on. Jack Carr created the series, which was executive-produced by Training Day‘s Antoine Fuqua. The official synopsis reads:

“The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is a prequel series with an origin story that follows Ben Edwards throughout his journey from the Navy SEALs to the clandestine side of CIA Special Operations. The series is an espionage thriller that explores the darker side of warfare and the human cost that comes with it.”

It’s undeniable that The Terminal List: Dark Wolf was a big hit for Prime Video. The original The Terminal List might have divided audiences and critics, but the prequel made them both fall in love with the dark and violent action thriller. Dark Wolf holds a 75% critics’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with a stronger 80% user rating.

Given its critical success and its dominance on the streaming charts, a second season was inevitable. Season 2 of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf was announced shortly after Season 1’s release, alongside another prequel to the core series. With Season 2 currently in the works, fans are desperate to know where the series will go, and its star, Taylor Kitsch, has teased what fans can expect from Season 2, saying:

“We shine a brighter light into the darkness of service. I love where we ended because we get way darker and I think you’re finally gonna see Ben truly fall in season 2, which obviously goes toward Terminal List season 1 and why he makes the decisions he makes. I’m excited.”

As well as delivering big on the action, Season 2 of Dark Wolf is also set to continue the show’s “anti-woke” legacy. That remit stems from Jack Carr’s own comments during the press tour for The Terminal List, when the writer and showrunner said:

“There’s no ‘woke’ or ‘anti-woke,’ but just because there’s not this ‘woke’ stuff that’s shoved into it, then it’s perceived – by critics, at least – as not promoting their agenda, so they’re going to hate it.”
