U.S.-based producer kO_Chen only began releasing music under this moniker earlier this year, yet he’s already demonstrating impressive sonic range. What grabbed my attention about his lofi edit of “City fleur” were the uplifting saxophone embellishments sitting comfortably over the drums. They’re soulful, nostalgic, and somehow cinematic while the groovy drums drive the rhythm forward, tying the whole track together with effortless swagger. I can’t neglect to mention the glistening keys in the backdrop, they’re emotive presence helps magnifiy the feeling of cozyness and comfort throughout the track.
