Wicked: For Good is currently having audiences tapping their ruby slippers together, opening to roughly $147 million in its first weekend at the box office. From the first film’s sing-along screenings to its many awards-season nominations, the franchise has continued to grow, with the latest entry already attracting a larger audience than the original and outperforming other juggernauts at the box office.
Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba Thropp and Ariana Grande as Glinda Upland have become quite the duo (supported by a phenomenal supporting cast), both on and off the screen, with the film’s promotion and their phenomenal performances making it enticing to join the many others who have flocked to theaters to catch Wicked: For Good. Yet all things, good or wicked, must come to an end, and the movie eventually has to step away from the screens and make its way to streaming. For others, streaming is also the ideal place to enjoy a film, especially when you can sing to your heart’s content.
Wicked: For Good is set to make its way to Peacock as a Universal film, much in the same way that the first film did, after its theatrical run. Here is what you need to know about Wicked: For Good and its potential Peacock release date.
When Will ‘Wicked: For Good’ Be Available To Stream on Peacock?
The Streaming Date May Come Sooner Than Fans May Expect
The initial run of Wicked felt like it lasted longer in theaters than many other films, thanks to the push for special sing-along showings. Yet, even if Wicked: For Good sees similar success and desire for an extended theatrical run with special showings, maybe aligning with Christmas Day again, it will most likely see a similar theater-to-streaming schedule. This means fans can expect Wicked: For Good to begin streaming approximately three to four months after its theatrical release.
Released on November 21, the musical will likely arrive on streaming as early as February 2026, or by March 2026 at the latest. Whether it will get the same treatment as the first film, including the sing-along version, behind-the-scenes features, and extended cuts with deleted scenes, remains to be seen. However, the current success of Wicked: For Good in theaters will likely set it up for the same amount of goodies for fans to enjoy when the beloved musical finally makes its way to streaming.
Will ‘Wicked: For Good’ Stay on Peacock, or Will It Move Elsewhere?
Peacock Has a Limited Time To Stream ‘Wicked: For Good’
Movies under the Universal banner, including Wicked, Wicked: For Good, and any potential sequels, will be available to stream exclusively on Peacock first, but this does not mean that they will remain there indefinitely. Previously, 2024’s Wicked was only on the platform from March 21 until July 20, 2025, before moving to Prime Video.
This is because the Peacock license is limited, and other streaming platforms can then bid for the rights. Prime Video, which benefited from having the culturally celebrated film Wicked on its platform, will very likely have the streaming rights to Wicked: For Good following the initial release on Peacock. Fans can catch Wicked: For Good in theaters now, and expect a streaming release date between February and March 2026.
