This episode was all about being in sync – during that time of the month. All the girls on the cheer team are currently synced and it’s as chaotic as you would think it’d be. Courteney is used to this since she’s always coached cheerleading, but she would also be in sync with them. Not this time though.

When she notices that she’s not in sync with her team, more specifically, she doesn’t get her huge red pimple on her chin, she starts to get nervous thinking that there’s a chance she could be pregnant. Boone is so calm, cool, and collected when Courteney tells him and that was odd to me. I’m not sure why, but then he tells the camera people that he’s not sure he could get Courteney pregnant because he had an “unintentional vasectomy”; cue a dog gnawing at his man parts. I was not expecting that and wasn’t expecting him to show a video of the surgery either.
You know what else I wasn’t expecting – Dimarcus being so attentive to his cheermates while they were all on their periods. He handed them personalized water, and even came prepared with toiletries. There was one scene with Sally where she needed a tampon and Dimarcus runs to get her one and tells her “don’t sneeze”; I couldn’t help but giggle. That was so validating, like this man is fully aware (having four older sisters did wonders for him). There were a few people on the football team who made him feel a way about this and it almost made him shy away from the others on the team. Courteney took notice and told him that “there’s nothing more masculine than knowing what a woman needs” and I couldn’t agree more.

Courteney has such a kind heart. The way she encourages Dimarcus to stick to who he is and embrace it as a superpower is so endearing. Then the moment she finds out Sally is living in her car, she allows her to stay with her. Courteney’s big red pimple finally shows up, so she’s not pregnant, but there’s no doubt about it, she’s one of the best mama bear there is.
Some of my favorite quotes out of context:
“This place is like the mall, you just take whatever you want”
“Sometimes I just want to scoop that girl up in my lap and sing her spirituals”
“Please be fajitas”
“Jesus take a knee”
“It was your birthday, 9:54 PM. It was unseasonably warm, humidity about 71%, wind was coming out of the east 18 knots… at least I think”
“I just thought that there was a serial killer and maybe she was next”
