Josh Freese is running it back with another collection of 60-second songs, Just a Minute Vol. 2, out November 28th via Stone Gossard’s Loosegroove Records.
Earlier this year, the prolific drummer (currently of Nine Inch Nails and formerly of Foo Fighters) teased the LP with the track “Cybertruck LOL,” a super catchy power-pop tune poking fun at the conspicuously angular Tesla vehicle. Freese impressively manages to cram in a ton of hooks before the minute mark, including a circle back to the chorus.
“This is the Kill Bill 2 of rock records,” Freese declared in a press release. “The sequel is as good, if not better, than the first one. I’m proud of it and think I finally got all the 60-second songs out of my system.”

Vol. 2 will arrive nearly five years after the initial collection and sports 25 more songs spanning a total of 25 minutes.
Described in the press release as a “rapid-fire rollercoaster of genre-bending micro-anthems,” there’s a very Ween-esque approach here, with Freese apparently even paying homage to the group with a track title “Wasted with the Ween.” Elsewhere, we get more humorous and irreverent song titles, such as “I Didn’t Know I Recorded with Avril,” “Kenny Loggins’ Naked Wedding,” and “Tijuana Boob Job,” to name a few.
