Amazon MGM’s Sarah’s Oil gained early attention this month, and now Nuremberg has entered the list of the top 100 highest-grossing domestic movies of the year within a single week of release. The World War II-based movie, featuring Russell Crowe, Leo Woodall, and Rami Malek, arrived on November 7, the same day as Sarah’s Oil, Predator: Badlands, Christy, and Die My Love. The timing placed it in the middle of a crowded slate, yet it still pushed forward with steady momentum.
Nuremberg Opening Weekend Box Office Performance
A week after its release, Nuremberg has reached $8.4 million domestically. The worldwide total is higher, though the final overseas numbers have not been released. Sony Pictures Classics distributed the movie and launched it with a limited US release in around 1,800 theatres. It earned more than $1.4 million on Friday, and repeated almost the same amount on Saturday, while bringing in close to a million on Sunday. This pushed the opening weekend total to more than $3.8 million with an average of $2,154 per theatre, according to Box Office Mojo.
Nuremberg 2nd Weekend Box Office Performance
During the weekdays that followed the first weekend, Nuremberg earned below $1 million per day. Even so, it continued to attract steady audiences, especially viewers drawn to historical stories. Its domestic strength encouraged an increase in theatre count last weekend to 1,830, which helped the movie cross more than $1 million on Saturday, showing that the expansion worked.
With a $3.8 million opening weekend and now a $2.4 million second weekend, the movie recorded a drop of 37%, which is a solid sign for long-term performance. The sleeper strength of Nuremberg has now placed it among the top 100 domestic movies of 2025. It currently stands at the 98th position ($8.4 million domestically), while Sarah’s Oil holds the 97th spot with $8.5m.
Nuremberg’s Strong Awards Buzz Driven By Russell Crowe & Rami Malek
Many viewers and critics already see Nuremberg as a strong contender for the upcoming Oscars. Russell Crowe leads the cast with a hard-hitting performance as Herman Goring, the real-life Nazi German soldier who serves as the movie’s main antagonist. Rami Malek supports the story with a controlled and focused presence that lifts several key scenes. The combined work of the cast gave the movie strong word of mouth from the start.
