Soundgarden’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony was a star-studded affair that featured the surviving members of the band alongside notable guest musicians such as Brandi Carlisle, Taylor Momsen, Jerry Cantrell, Mike Cready, and more.
Now the Rock Hall has posted official videos of a couple of those performances to YouTube, with the full induction ceremony available to stream via Disney+.
One of the highlights was a stirring rendition of “Black Hole Sun” fronted by Brandi Carlisle. Momsen provided backing vocals, with the rest of lineup featuring Cantrell and the surviving members of Soundgarden — drummer Matt Cameron, guitarist Kim Thayil, and bassist Ben Shepherd, as well as original bassist Hiro Yamamoto.
Following the band member speeches, the late Chris Cornell’s daughter Toni sang “Fell on Black Days,” accompanied on guitar by Heart’s Nancy Wilson — a particularly emotional moment during the ceremony.

Elsewhere, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready teamed up with Momsen, who took lead vocals on a version of “Rusty Cage,” though this clip has yet to be uploaded to the official Rock Hall channel.
“We wanted to keep it as Seattle-centric as possible and include some people that were there with us in the beginning,” Cameron told Seattle Times about the artists asked to join the band for the performance.
“To have our peers, friends and creative collaborators from here share that with us is very important,” added Thayil in the same Seattle Times story. “It’s very important because it’s part of our identity. We’re not simply ‘rock guys’ in this band Soundgarden. We’re rock guys in this band Soundgarden that helped establish the Seattle scene and the sound. The geography is very important to our identity. It’s where we are, it’s where we came from. It’s who we are.”
Soundgarden’s Rock Hall induction comes with the band’s third nomination; they were previously up for the honor in 2020 and 2023 before finally breaking through.
