Now You See Me: Now You Don’t continues the magical shenanigans in a globe-trotting third chapter with an overloaded ensemble. Classic characters return with a trio of new faces, a lackluster antagonist and a convoluted plot that’s always in motion. The nifty heist at its core plays second fiddle to a stream of introductions and team-building exercises meant to promote cast chemistry. This chirpy repartee almost drowns out the blockbuster illusions and sleight-of-hand chicanery that’s the real draw. Franchise diehards will appreciate seeing the gang back together again, but there’s frankly too much going on to enchant casual viewers.
