We still have some time before The Vampire Lestat hits our screens, but it’s never too early to get excited.
We’re getting Lestat de Lioncourt, vampire rockstar, in 2026, and just the thought of it gives us a rush.
And the latest trailer has us more than excited for what’s to come.

Coming off the masterpiece that was Interview with the Vampire Season 2, the AMC hit series will next adapt the second novel in Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles, which follows the rise of Lestat as he becomes an international rockstar and delves into his complicated past.
While there’s been much secrecy surrounding the series, information has slowly trickled in, and perhaps the most significant hints we’ve gotten came in the three-minute trailer that premiered at New York Comic Con.
While we’ve seen snippets of Lestat in all his bloody, rockstar glory, the trailer teases not only his time on stage but also more Louis, Daniel, and Armand. And yes, we even get a peek at Claudia.
The extended trailer alternates between present day, where we see Daniel and Louis out to dinner and discussing Daniel’s controversial novel, and glimpses into the past, including what we assume is a young Lestat and shots of 1700s France.

The first look pulses with blood, music, and memories. It almost feels like you’re in the midst of a fever dream as you flash between the 1700s and the bright lights of modern fame.
Like many of the novels in The Vampire Chronicles, a lot of ground is covered throughout, and the show will tackle as much as possible rather than focusing on just one aspect.
The Vampire Lestat Promises Big Changes
While that kind of ambition could be detrimental if there’s too much going on, the series has proven over the last two seasons to be up to the challenge.
Audiences are already familiar with some characters; the season will introduce key figures in Lestat’s life, including Magnus, Lestat’s creator; Gabrielle, Lestat’s mother; Marius, an ancient vampire and prominent player in the universe; and Akasha, the Queen of the Damned.

And while these new characters will undoubtedly make their mark, it’s evident that this exploration into Lestat’s past will be a treat for fans of the books and the series, who’ll finally get their chance to dive even deeper into the psyche of the troubled vampire.
As Interview with the Vampire Season 1 and Interview with the Vampire Season 2 were told from Louis’s perspective, this will be the chance for Lestat to tell his story, or the version he believes or wants to tell.
It’ll be an interesting dichotomy to the previous seasons, and a whole lot of fun.
It’s hard to pick a favorite clip from the trailer because there are several, but the extended look at Louis and Lestat sitting across from one another, as if in mediation for a contentious divorce, may be among the best teases in the three-minute video.

The tormented and deliciously complicated Louis and Lestat dynamic will be on full display in a season that looks poised to take the series to even greater heights as it expands the world Anne Rice so meticulously built.
We may not know when it’s set to premiere, but we’re still counting down the days.
