The Boys Season 5 is destined to be Homelander’s swan song. But if you think his downfall will come from a Butcher beatdown or a Starlight-led rebellion, think again.

Homelander’s end won’t come from brute force. It’ll come from betrayal, strategy, and the very minds he underestimated.

Gen V is laying the groundwork, brick by brick. The show is quietly orchestrating a betrayal so personal, so poetic, it could only be scripted by the twisted minds behind Vought.

Let’s break down the ticking time bomb.

Sister Sage: The Smartest Snake in the Room

Sister Sage isn’t loyal — she’s strategic. On The Boys Season 4 Episode 3, she lobotomized herself just to tolerate Homelander’s idiocy. That’s not devotion; that’s damage control.

She’s always sided with power, joining The Seven only after Homelander offered her influence.

Sage manipulated public perception to keep Homelander in control, even when it meant suppressing dissent.

She used her intellect to steer Vought’s narrative, not out of belief, but out of opportunity.

Now in Gen V, she’s working with Cipher, aka the freshly revived Thomas Godolkin. And Homelander? He’s none the wiser.

Her loyalty is transactional, not emotional. She’ll flip sides the moment the power dynamic shifts. That makes her the most dangerous player on the board.

Godolkin: Back From the Dead, and Out for Blood

On Gen V Season 2, Episode 7, Cipher’s mask was ripped off, revealing that the real puppet master was Thomas Godolkin himself.

He’s healed, he’s angry, and he’s preaching a new gospel: “Cull the weak.”

This isn’t the same Cipher who played politics. This is a wild card with a God complex.

And while he once seemed aligned with Sage, his current agenda feels more Darwinian than diplomatic.

If he joins forces with Stan Edgar, Homelander’s days are numbered. Godolkin’s revival isn’t just physical -it’s ideological.

He’s no longer hiding behind masks or allies. He’s here to reshape the supe hierarchy by force.

Edgar Returns — And He’s Not Here to Mentor

Stan Edgar made his grand re-entry on Gen V Season 2 Episode 6, and brought some big changes with him.

He’s no longer Vought’s CEO, but he’s still pulling strings from the shadows. His goal? Reclaim control of Compound V and dethrone Homelander.

Edgar might also have a history with Sage. She respects power, and Edgar oozes it.

If they align — and Godolkin joins the party — Homelander won’t just be outgunned. He’ll be outsmarted, outmaneuvered, and out of allies.

Edgar’s return signals a corporate coup in motion. He’s not nostalgic — he’s surgical. And Sage might be the scalpel he needs to cut Homelander out.

The Final Season: A Knife in the Back, Not the Chest

The Boys Season 5 is confirmed to be the final chapter. And while fans expect a climactic showdown, the real twist might be psychological.

Imagine Homelander, betrayed by the one person he trusted to think for him. Sage isn’t just his advisor — she’s his crutch. If she flips, it won’t be a battle. It’ll be a collapse.

And if Sage pulls the trigger? That’s not just poetic justice. That’s Shakespeare with a Compound V twist.

If poetic justice and Shakespearean tragedy are your jam, smash that like button and drop your theories in the comments.

And if morally grey superheroes are your guilty pleasure, Peacemaker’s chaos is calling.

The John Cena superhero drama doesn’t take itself too seriously, much like Gen V. Like, you’d believe both shows were set in the same universe.
