Axl Rose apparently didn’t like what he was hearing when Guns N’ Roses launched their concert with “Welcome to the Jungle” in Argentina on Saturday night, taking out his frustrations on new stickman Isaac Carpenter’s drum kit — not once but twice.
Guns N’ Roses are in the midst of their fall Latin American tour, and Saturday night marked the second of two shows at Estadio Huracán in Buenos Aires, having played the same venue the previous evening.
Fan-filmed video shows Rose getting visibly upset during “Welcome to the Jungle, ” the first song on the setlist. He can be seen walking up the drum riser and kicking the bass drum, and, at another point, violently throwing his microphone into the drum kit in frustration.

The footage also shows the singer ripping off his leather jacket and walking off the stage angrily, and later telling the audience, “So, I’ll just try and wing this!”
It’s not clear whether Axl was having his own sound issues or if he was dissatisfied by Carpenter’s performance behind the kit. The drummer joined Guns N’ Roses earlier this year, replacing longtime member Frank Ferrer.
Back in Guns N’ Roses’ heyday, Rose was known for his onstage meltdowns, but he’s pretty much been on his best behavior over the past several years, with the band’s recent tours going off without a hitch, and raking in hundreds of millions of dollars.
GN’R’s Latin American tour continues through a November 8th show in Mexico City, with tickets available here.
