Medical dramas love to address body autonomy, and that’s certainly something Chicago Med Season 11 Episode 4 is going to explore.
This episode is going to spark plenty of discussion, and it’s not about the typical body autonomy topics.
No, this has nothing to do with vaccinations, and it has nothing to do with abortions.
Instead, it’s an important topic to cover, and there’s a hint that something much deeper might be going on.
The latest promo for the new episode of Chicago Med Season 11 gives us a look at one of the week’s significant medical cases.
A Patient Refuses Help on Chicago Med
Dr. Archer is there when a medical emergency comes in.
A person has faced an accident with an electrical saw, leading to his hand being chopped off, but not everything is as it seems.
As Archer says that they have to act fast to get the hand reattached, the patient says something most people wouldn’t.
He doesn’t want it attached, fearing that he’s going to kill someone with it.
As you would expect, it means calling Dr. Charles to help understand this patient’s psyche, because it’s clear that something deeper is going on.
Anyone interested in a crossover between Chicago Med and Brilliant Minds?
Honestly, I think Dr. Wolf from Brilliant Minds might be needed, as he’s likely dealt with someone who I’m sure will have the same diagnosis.
If the patient thinks his hand is going to kill someone, it would suggest that he is suffering from Alien Hand Syndrome, but this is usually a side effect of a bigger problem in the brain, and it’s going to be all-hands on deck to ghetto the bottom of this.
A Bubble Girl
This guy isn’t the only patient of the week, and we’ll get to see more of Dr. Frost connecting with a patient.
The synopsis and photos promoting Chicago Med Season 11 Episode 4 offer a glimpse of a young girl who ends up in a bubble.
It turns out that she has an autoimmune disease, and the bubble is going to be there to protect her from any illness in the hospital.
This is such an awful way to live, for both the young girl and her parents, and it’s not surprising that Frost is connecting with her.
He is so wonderful with the kids, and I often feel like he is hoping they can have a better childhood than he did, so he wants to help them with whatever their situation is.
It’s not going to be easy with this situation, though.
What’s Lennox Up To?
While so many people disliked Lennox when she first joined Med, I was intrigued.
There was always something more to her, and then we got her backstory on Chicago Med Season 10.
Now, when it comes to her storylines, I’m intrigued even more.
She’s trying to do the best she can for the world while she can, which usually means deciding how far she is willing to push her job.
The synopsis for Chicago Med Season 11 Episode 4 doesn’t offer much detail about her role, but she’s making some kind of discovery.
Charles races to convince a patient to accept treatment before it’s too late; Frost bonds with a young girl battling immunodeficiency; Lenox makes a chilling discovery.
This could make or break the hospital, but it could also be something personal to her, especially with her health complications we know about.
Without images, I can’t even get a hint of what’s going on, and it’s actually the most intriguing part of the synopsis that makes me want to watch the entire episode.
