Finally, something to look forward to in the bitter days of late winter. Netflix announced early Monday morning that its smash hit series “Bridgerton,” based on the beloved romance novels from Julia Quinn, will return in early 2026. Well, with a caveat: like Season 3, Season 4 will arrive in two parts.
The streamer has announced that Part 1 of the season, including the first four episodes, will drop on January 29, 2026, with Part 2 (also four episodes) following on February 26, 2026. Netflix previously employed a similar release strategy with Season 3 in 2024, splitting that season over two releases during early summer. Talk about delaying the gratification!
During a February event held in London, current showrunner Jess Brownell teased that the forthcoming season is the “Bridgerton” season most “faithful” to the respective novel, and one that will kick off with a masquerade ball. (Still, we previously wondered just how faithful this season will be, considering some sticky elements of the novel.)
Per this season’s official logline: “The fourth season of ‘Bridgerton’ turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Luke Thompson). Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.” “The theme of the season is really about true love being somewhere in between fantasy and reality,” Brownell also noted.
In May, the streamer announced that the fifth and sixth seasons of the smash hit had been greenlit, though it’s unclear which siblings they will focus on and when they will arrive.
This season stars Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton), Yerin Ha (Sophie Baek), Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton), Victor Alli (Lord John Stirling), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Julie Andrews (Lady Whistledown), Lorraine Ashbourne (Mrs. Varley), Masali Baduza (Michaela Stirling), Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Bridgerton), Hannah Dodd (Francesca Stirling), Daniel Francis (Lord Marcus Anderson), Ruth Gemmell (Violet Bridgerton), Florence Hunt (Hyacinth Bridgerton), Martins Imhangbe (Will Mondrich), Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton), Luke Newton (Colin Bridgerton), Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Will Tilston (Gregory Bridgerton), Polly Walker (Portia Featherington), Emma Naomi (Alice Mondrich), Hugh Sachs (Brimsley), plus Simone Ashley (Kate Bridgerton), Isabella Wei (Posy Li), Michelle Mao (Rosamund Li), and Katie Leung (Lady Araminta Gun).
