The Morning Show Season 4 Episode 4, “Love the Questions,” feels like the old Morning Show, and that’s a good thing.

Yanko is in a crisis that worsens progressively with every passing minute; Bradley is going against the grain and working on something that could destroy everything, and Cory is back haunting the halls of the network.

It’s some excellent stuff that makes the episode so satisfying to watch. Apart from the arcs, almost everyone from the old gang is back, and for the first time, they don’t feel disconnected.

    Welcome Back, Cory, I Guess?

Let’s get the Cory of it all out of the way because for some reason, he has fans. I get that his honesty can be refreshing, but sometimes, people don’t need blunt honesty. They need to be gradually introduced to the truth; otherwise, they’ll reject it.

But if anything serves Cory’s agenda, he will do it. This time, he’s blackmailed his way into UBN, and as if that’s not enough, he’s angling for someone else’s job.

And once again, I get that no one on The Morning Show or in our world is black and white. We all exist in grey areas, but some people’s grey is multiple shades different from everyone else’s.

Cory lives in his own world. He will sell his soul to the highest bidder, and if another bidder comes with a better offer, he’ll double-cross the previous bidder. It makes him dangerous, untrustworthy, and downright evil.

He is small and insecure, to the point that a conversation with Chip, which he wasn’t even the subject of, sends him over the edge.

Who was surprised that he was the one who covered the Wolf River fiasco? Chances are that he wasn’t as deeply involved as to the extent of murdering Lawyer Kenneth Stockton, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew about it.

    Poor Celine

With him comes destructive chaos, and on his first day back, Celine is the victim.

We were all convinced that she knew about her husband’s cheating, so realizing that she was unaware makes it all the more heartbreaking.

    (Erin Simkin/Apple TV+)

Those scenes from previous episodes where they were locked in a sweet embrace become even sadder when we learn that she wasn’t aware. Like many Suits, Celine is not a favorite of mine, but on a human level, I connected with her pain.

A lot of personal life stuff does spill over to the professional side, and this cheating scandal, if it got out, would destroy her. Let alone being the CEO and board chief, she’d be lucky if she weren’t pushed out of her current job.

I’m very interested in seeing what her next move will be. Will she swallow the pain and act like everything is okay, or will she go nuclear and destroy everyone on her path?

My gut tells me the latter because there is something about her that spells danger. It could be the English-infused French accent.

Someone who should be prepared for the chaos in her life, courtesy of Hurricane Cory, is Bradley.

    (Erin Simkin/Apple TV+)

When I said rehashing the past is almost always a bad idea, I didn’t know that Cory was implicated in the cover-up to that extent. However, I know that people rarely change, and even if they do, their past will forever keep intruding.

Bradley is currently in a good place. She’s back doing something she loves, Alex has not killed her story, and her personal life is not a dumpster fire.

However, this Cory business will upset this peace, and you don’t want a disturbed Bradley to focus on you. Still, genuine feelings exist between them, making it tricky to navigate.

Like Celine, I’m eager to see how she approaches this.

UBA Handles a Story About a Crisis While in Crisis

Breaking news is a norm in the newsroom, but it’s never less chaotic when a huge story breaks.

Soon after Mia’s exit, a midair plane accident becomes the primary focus, and it becomes clear why they need her.

    (Erin Simkin/Apple TV+)

When I said UBA lost in the review of The Morning Show Season 4 Episode 3, they really lost.

A job is not about being able to do it. It’s about knowing how to navigate the intricacies of making everything come together. Whether it is coordinating with different people or keeping yourself organized, these skills have to be learned through experience.

Layla simply did not have the experience to handle such a high-pressure situation, as she lacked the grit Mia had developed over the years working in nearly every department of the network.

Seeing her buckle under the pressure was both gratifying and sad. I want everyone to succeed, but we can’t succeed at stuff we aren’t good at. And even she was willing to admit that Mia would have handled the situation better.

“Love the Questions” was a pressure chamber that kept everything tight and closed. This is what I’ve always loved about the show.

    Stray Thoughts

    • I do not know what’s happening with Alex’s story this season. This arc with her father seems out of step because it has literally never mattered in her life before. What happened to her daughter? That’s something I’d love to see more of.
    • So, the alternative facts network. I know they suck, but there is something about the confidence that hosts on propaganda networks have that you can’t help but admire. I’d watch Ashley from Eagle News even when I knew her entire diatribe was nonsense.

    • I’ve been following the plane crash catastrophes of the past few years with Boeing. I would have loved to see a Morning Show take on the entire aviation industry, from the substandard planes to overworked controllers and anti-social cockpit environments.
    • Oh, poor Yanko! It’s what I’ve been saying about the past. Leave Claire in the past! You have a nice, beautiful woman; learn to accept your blessings.
