Rather than throw a party down by the old Frankenstein place (too many bikers on the road there), Consequence is celebrating Rocky Horror’s 50th by giving away five (5) copies of the Rocky Horror steelbook collectible release. With both 4K UHD and Blu-ray copies, this anniversary edition includes a fresh 4K restoration of the movie and Dolby enhancements alongside a ton of special features including a karaoke viewing option, a trivia track, an audio commentary featuring stars O’Brien and Quinn, and new featurettes. Plus, there are loads of deleted scenes and alternate versions, like the infamous misprint ending, the deleted song “Once in a While,” and the alternate credit ending.
This new version was overseen by the Walt Disney Studios Restoration team, and “the 10-month project included a meticulous digital scan and preservation process that ensures every frame of the cult classic is presented with unprecedented clarity and vibrancy.” Starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Richard O’Brien, Patricia Quinn, Little Nell Campbell, Jonathan Adams, Peter Hinwood, and Meat Loaf, the movie remains an enduring tribute to and beloved favorite for the weirdos of the world, one that still plays in revival houses around the world.
