Fucked Up have announced an ambitious 10-part finale to their long-running Zodiac series, beginning with the new album Year of the Goat.
The Canadian hardcore act’s Zodiac series is a run of albums and EPs centered around the Chinese zodiac that have been released in addition to the band’s regular studio albums. The series began with Year of the Dog in 2006, with its most recent entry being 2021’s Year of the Horse.
Now, Fucked Up are set to deliver the series’ final entry, under the collective title Grass Can Move Stones, broken up into three albums (Year of the Goat, Year of the Monkey, and Year of the Rooster), with a total of 10 parts made up of 10 vinyl sides of music: Goat (1 LP), Monkey (2 LP), Rooster (2 LP).

“We are excited to announce Grass Can Move Stones, the ten part finale to our twenty-year Zodiac album cycle,” stated the band. “Join us over the next year as we release the Year of the Goat LP, the Year of the Monkey 2xLP, and the Year of the Rooster 2xLP in installments, one story spread over almost five hours of music, that dives back into the characters, narratives, and music from all our previous zodiac records, told by dozens of characters and special guests.”
The statement continues, “Sides will be released (almost) monthly on Bandcamp, leading up to the finale side in October 2026, the twenty-year anniversary of the first zodiac album, Year of the Dog. Vinyl will hit stores through this year, so stay tuned.”
Year of the Goat will be rolled out as follows:
- October 3rd, 2025: Side A arrives digitally on the official FUCKED UP Bandcamp page.
- December 5th, 2025: Side B arrives digitally on the official FUCKED UP Bandcamp page.
- December 12th, 2025: Vinyl LP hits stores worldwide, in limited-edition variants, with pre-orders beginning October 7th at this location.
Year of the Monkey will arrive in Spring 2026, while Year of the Rooster will be released in Fall 2026.
