But if you want our thoughts on that, check out our Doc Season 2 Episode 2 Review.
If you wantn a recap giving you scene-by-scene information, we have you covered below!
A pregnant patient is on the bus and is trying to head to Westside because she’s having pains. A nice passenger talks to her and offers some assistance, but the woman says she can’t reveal who she is or where she’s from when asked.
Amy is emerging from the tank and wants to see if it makes any difference for her. Gina sends her to rest.
As she’s resting, Joan appears and plays a joke on her to wake her up. They briefly catch up. Joan brings her into the hallway to meet with the interns that Joan has brought along with her. She’s apparently raved to them about Amy.
While she’s listening to Joan and the interns talk, Amy has a brief memory of eating chocolate cake at dinner.
She runs into Jake in the hallway on her way to check on TJ, and their interaction is a bit awkward. Jake claims that he wanted to show up at work for morale, even though it’s the day after the hostage situation.
Jake checks on his patient, who has had hiccups for 11 days. Joan and her interns are in there to check on the patient and try to find a solution.
Amy bumps into Michael in the hallway and she congratulates him on the baby. They don’t have a name for him yet, and she hugs him. After he walks away, she has more flashes of memories, a dinner, flowers, and a drink.
Someone stops Amy and wants her to check on her patient, the same one from the opener. Amy performs an ultrasound on the baby and notices something on the scan that concerns her.
She heads into Gina’s office seeking help. Amy tells her that there’s no baby in the uteru,s even though the woman appears to be seven months pregnant.
In a flashback, Michael appears at the hospital, and Amy is unhappy to see him, wondering why he is even there. He doesn’t get to talk before she’s going off and berating another doctor who screwed up on a kid.
Michael seems uncomfortable with how Amy is speaking down to one of her peers, but doesn’t say anything.
In the present, Gina tells Amy that she has to treat the patient as if she’s actually pregnant until they figure out what else is going on with her.
Amy also tells Gina about the flashes of memories that she’s having.
Michael and Nora are in the room, and they’re still trying to figure out the baby’s name. He chooses Simon after her father. They’re interrupted by the head of the board, who tells him to take his paternity leave now because of the UNOS thing, so they can hope things will blow over. Michael is resistant to it, and he wants to put in his pick for chief, but he doesn’t have much choice.
TJ’s doctor says that he needs a lot of rehab and that it will take six months for him to walk properly again and about a year before he can run and play sports again. This rattles TJ, who feels like he’s ready to be up and at ’em.
Sonya apologizes to Jake, and he tells her that he and Amy are no longer together. He calls her out on pretending to be sorry, but she tells him that he deserves better.
Someone named Anne comes in and tries to take over while Megan is being seen. Anne lays down the law, refusing treatment and procedures, and Anne says that wherever Megan goes, she goes. It’s already giving the impression that it’s abusive.
In the flashback, Michael brought Amy tickets to a concert they wanted to attend, but Amy shoots him down, telling him that she has dinner with Joan and that he should take Katie and plan better.
In the present, Joan congratulates Michael on the baby, and every time he makes a suggestion for the Chief of Internal Medicine, she shoots all of his suggestions down.
Anne is in the room with Amy and Gina as Megan gets her testing and talks about how important this baby is, and that she’ll be there to take care of it like another parent. Amy has had enough of hearing Anne go on and on and has an outburst about the baby not being real, laying the responsibility on Anne for makingMegan feel she needed to feed into this delusion to be special.
Anne is shocked by this.
Gina takes Anne outside since Amy is not having any of it. Gina tells Anne that they have to treat the tumor that Meagan has instead of breaking her delusion just yet. And she threatens to call authorities on Anne if she insists on taking Megan out of the hospital when they’re treating her.
Michael is worried about the baby and has them running ECMO and other testing just to be on the safe side.
TJ tries to go to the bathroom by himself. He falls.
Amy keeps getting worked up on this case, and Megan keeps expressing interest in involving Anne.
Megan keeps asking about the baby’s gender and other things, and Amy struggles with lying to her about the baby. She agrees to the biopsy.
Amy suspects that the longer Megan feels she’s pregnant, the worse off she’ll be because of the type of tumor it is, and it’s exasperating. Anne shows up and says that she has spoken to her people, and they can keep Megan because she’s not having a baby, and that’s all they wanted in the first place.
Gina has DCSF looking into finding Megan’s biological brother, even though it’s a long shot.
Sonya pulls Amy aside to ask her to talk to TJ because she knows that he’ll only listen to her, and he’s giving everyone else a hard time. Amy tries to apologize about the other day, saying that they aren’t friends, and Sonya tells her to save it, recounts how this whole thing of them catering to her whims was always narcissistic, and now it’s dangerous. She tells Amy that she doesn’t belong there.
Joan checks in on Amy, and it triggers another memory. She sees Joan telling her that she has no choice in the matter. But when she tries to ask Joan about it, Joan claims she doesn’t really recall and is dismissive.
Amy heads down to the nursery and checks in on Michael and the baby. She seems genuinely eager to see the baby, and Michael opens up to her about how afraid he is to take the baby home. Amy reassures him that he’s not replacing Danny by taking the baby home. Nora interrupts them, and Amy quickly leaves to avoid the awkwardness.
Jake and Sonya think they’ve helped their patient, but he still has the hiccups.
They did a procedure on Megan, but she started coding. It’s a false alarm.
Amy talks to Gina about how she got all of the tumor out. And Gina gets word that Jordan, Megan’s brother, is there. Gina talks to him about their background. It was rough, and they got separated. Megan must’ve ended up in this cult.
Joan checks on Jake and Sonya’s patient and realizes that he has a lipoma, which is causing the hiccups.
Amy and Gina go in to tell Megan that she’s not having a baby, and she doesn’t handle the news well, and wonders where Anne is. She slaps Amy in her struggles, and they have to sedate her.
Amy checks on Tj and talks about how they both suck at being patients.
Meanwhile, Nora asks Michael if he still loves Amy because she can’t take it. He tells her that he loves her and he’s not going anywhere. It seems to put her at ease.
Megan and Gina talk, and Gina talks to her about grief. She brings Jordan into the room, and they have a happy reunion.
In the flashbacks, Michael confides in Joan about what he’s seeing from Amy and how she’s changed so much, and he can’t get through to her.
He asks if she can talk to Amy at dinner later. But Joan seems more content that Amy is on the path toward chief, and that she’s doing well at work, even if the others can’t keep up with her.
Michael goes in and asks Joan if she’ll consider being chief of medicine. He asks for a year, and she negotiates three years, and a list of other things that she needs.
Amy goes into Gina’s office to check up on how things are with Megan. She also talks about how hard it was to lie to her and wonders if the old version of her would have had issues doing that. Gina tells her no, and even thougAmy said maybe that would’ve been easier, Gina says she prefers this version of Amy.
It prompts Amy to ask Gina what she did to her, and Gina mentions that it was a series of things, death by a 1000 cuts. That she basically lost Amy when Danny died, and that when she needed Amy, she wasn’t there for her. And they never talked about it because, compared to what Amy was going through, all of her stuff was trivial.
Amy apologizes to her and wants to do better. Kisses her on the forehead and leaves, claiming she wants to be able to fix things.
Sonya checks in on TJ. He struggles with asking for help.
As Jake is leaving, Amy tells him that she has some memories and she wants him to wait a bit, because she wants to be able to remember them. She says that he’s not her security blanket.
He asks her if Nora and the baby didn’t exist, would she go back to Michael and Katie, and tells her to stop lying to herself.
Jake and Sonya go out for drinks together.
Gina finds Joan in the chief office. She doesn’t seem pleased, and she texts Amy that Joan is Chief now. It’s as if Amy was looking at all the FB announcement pictures of Michael, Nora, and the baby.
The text prompts her to finally piece together a bit of that memory. Joan told Amy that Michael always held her back and that she’s basically just looking at him as the man who let her son die. She told Amy to leave Michael.
