October may be Hulu‘s most productive month of the year. Their ‘Huluween’ branding features dozens of original and acquired Halloween classics. This year is no exception, with several chilling new movies and series arriving on the platform. The film side of things promises new original supernatural stories, as well as a remake of one of the most well-known psychological thrillers of the ’90s.
On the TV front, the final season of an animated sci-fi hit is coming. Hulu is also releasing a drama inspired by a captivating 2023 murder trial. Hulu’s also giving us a fun new stand-up special as a break from all the horror. Beyond the new originals, multiple horror movie classics are dropping just in time for the season. So let’s check out everything coming to Hulu for this Huluween season.
‘Stay’
Streaming October 8
What better way to celebrate Huluween than with a brand-new original horror flick? Stay follows young couple Kiara and Miles as their fairytale romance begins to unfold. They settle into a house together and begin to build a perfect life. But their idyllic life quickly begins to unravel as evil spirits reveal their presence in the house. The ghosts physically trap the couple inside the home, forcing them to confront demons from their past and how they got to this point.
Stay features Megalyn Echikunwoke as Kiara and Mo McRae as Miles, with Jas Summers as writer and director. Hulu has a strong track record when it comes to original Huluween movies, so definitely keep this one on your radar. Just be sure not to confuse it with the 2005 film of the same name, starring Ewan McGregor, also available on the platform. Stay streams on October 8.
‘Frankie Quiñones: Damn That’s Crazy’

Taking a break from horror, let’s check out a new original stand-up comedy special with Frankie Quiñones: Damn That’s Crazy. Frankie Quiñones has been making the stand-up rounds for a few years now. He started with the original web series Juanita Carmelita, then branched out into more mainstream venues. He’s no stranger to Hulu either, appearing in their 2022 comedy series This Fool.
Quiñones’ new special hits all the notes we’ve come to know and love with stand-up. He discusses his home life, childhood, dating history, and his experiences with race relations. Anyone who wants to check out Quiñones’ style before this special should also check out This Fool, which boasts an impressive 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Frankie Quiñones: Damn That’s Crazy can be streamed on Hulu on October 10.
‘The Hand That Rocks the Cradle’ (2025 Remake)

As the title hints, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle is a remake of the 1992 thriller. The original followed a doctor who commits suicide after being accused of assault by one of his patients. The doctor’s wife suffers a miscarriage from the shock and poses as a nanny for the accuser’s family to enact her revenge. While not necessarily a critical favorite, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle was a financial success.
This reboot stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Maika Monroe, Raul Castillo, Riki Lindhome, and Martin Starr. It’s unclear how closely this remake will follow the story of the original, but the trailer hints at plenty of classic horror, suspense, and vengeance. The Hand That Rocks The Cradle streams on Hulu on October 22, and fans of the original can check that out when it makes its way to Hulu on October 1.

‘Solar Opposites’ (Season 6)
Streaming October 13
Solar Opposites will release its sixth and final season in October. Created by Rick and Morty‘s Justin Roiland, Solar Opposites follows the alien family of Korvo, Terry, Jesse, and Yumyulack after they crash-land on Earth. The show has enjoyed critical and audience acclaim since its 2020 debut, even picking up a few Annie Awards nominations. Roiland left the show after Season 3 when domestic abuse allegations were leveled against him (which also removed him from Rick and Morty).
Dan Stevens replaced Roiland in the cast, which also features Thomas Middleditch, Sean Giambrone, and Mary Mack. A teaser revealed plenty more chaos and destruction on the way, with an ominous hint that one of the Solar Opposites family members may die. But this outing might not actually be the definitive end. The official poster spelled out “final season — for now,” so perhaps there’s something else in store down the line. All 10 episodes of Solar Opposites‘ final-ish season stream on October 13.

‘Murdaugh: Death in the Family’ (Miniseries)

In 2023, lawyer Alex Murdaugh was convicted of the 2021 murders of his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul. The trial captivated the world, and several podcasts and documentaries about the case soon followed. The most famous was Netflix’s Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal, which was actually first released during the trial. The upcoming Murdaugh: Death in the Family miniseries is the first scripted adaptation.
The series is inspired by the 2021 podcast Murdaugh Murders Podcast. That podcast followed investigations and news stories surrounding the case as they unfolded in real time. Hulu’s miniseries stars Jason Clarke as Alex Murdaugh, Patricia Arquette as Maggie Murdaugh, Johnny Berchtold as Paul Murdaugh, and Brittany Snow as Murdaugh Murders Podcast host Mandy Murphy. The eight-episode series debuts with three episodes on October 15, with one episode following each Wednesday until the finale on November 19.
