The BBC has unveiled the trailer for the Ozzy Osbourne documentary, Sharon & Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, that was previously pulled from the air at the wishes of the Osbourne family in the wake of the metal icon’s passing.
The one-hour documentary special about Ozzy’s “last chapter” will now premiere this Thursday, October 2nd, at 9 p.m. British time via BBC One and the broadcasting company’s iPlayer app, a free streaming service for residents of the UK.
Filmed over three years, the film “follows the lives of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne as they plan their dream of moving back to the UK” and features intimate access to the Osbourne family, including Sharon, Jack, and Kelly.

Much of the two-minute trailer looks like it could be from a reboot of The Osbournes, complete with a few humorous wisecracks by Ozzy himself. There’s also many heartwarming moments between Ozzy and Sharon, and the documentary also details Ozzy’s health issues and his journey to perform his final show at the Back to the Beginning concert.
Back in early August, the BBC’s Clare Sillery stated, “We are honored to have had the opportunity to film with Ozzy and his family. The film captures an intimate glimpse into their journey as they prepare to return to the UK. It features family moments, humor, reflection and shows the enduring spirit that made Ozzy a global icon. We hope it brings comfort and joy to Ozzy’s fans and viewers as they remember and celebrate his extraordinary life.”
The special was set to premiere on August 18th but was pulled just hours before its air time. The BBC later explained that the decision to pull it at the last minute was out of respect for the “family’s wishes.”
Meanwhile, the BBC special is one of a pair of documentaries about Ozzy’s final years. On October 7th — five days after the BBC broadcast — Paramount+ will begin streaming Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape from Now, a two-hour film that details the final six years of Ozzy’s life.
