Hailing from Lu’s dwelling, Cape City, Sacred Union is a duo that dwells within the inventive border of indie and downtempo electronica. Pushed by their mission to create lush and atmospheric ambiance utilizing hand pan sounds and delicate synths, Grethe and Levi’s sound is ideal for anybody who loves the artwork of artists like Maribou State, Bonobo, and London Grammar.
“House” marks their first launch since their 2023 debut “Earlier than Your Gentle” and explores themes of connection, belonging, and interior stillness. It kicks off like the proper soundtrack to a sundown meditation session, floating calmly on a Standup Paddleboard at a peaceful sea. Then, out of nowhere, a light-hearted guitar riff sneaks in. It does sound playful and weirdly flirtatious, and out of the blue you are in indie territory. That mix of tranquility and character actually reveals the depth of their sound, and truthfully, it pulled me in much more. Enthusiastic about the way forward for these guys.
