The American Pavilion is now accepting submissions for the 2026 American Pavilion Rising Filmmaker Showcase, which can introduced on the Cannes Movie Pageant. Since its founding in 1997, the showcase has supplied a platform for up-and-coming writers and administrators to current their work to main business professionals, in alignment with town’s iconic movie pageant.
Notable alumni embrace Ryan Coogler, whose six-minute brief “Locks” screened on the showcase in 2009; Fawzia Mirza, whose “The Syed Household Xmas Eve Recreation Evening” was featured in 2022 and has since directed Hulu’s “Deli Boys” and can direct Amazon MGM’s upcoming “Hana Khan Carries On” produced by Mindy Kaling; and Jeff Nichols (“The Bikeriders,” “Loving”).
Different previous members embrace Tessa Blake (“Station 19,” “Matlock”), Manjari Makijany (“Skater Woman,” “Spin”), Alexa Alemanni (“Mad Males”), and Morgan J. Freeman, whose debut “Hurricane Streets” went on to win three high prizes at Sundance.
