In case you’re drawn to music that feels private and intentional, Isaiah Falls is somebody to look at. The “BUTTERFLIES” singer brings a clean, emotional supply that concurrently displays his Puerto Rican and Haitian heritage and the heat of his Florida upbringing. Intimate, vibey and rooted in feeling, his sound carries hints of basic R&B. Nevertheless, he does not lock himself into one style. Falls is aware of tips on how to experience a groove with out shedding the story, and when he strips all of it again, his vocals communicate louder than any manufacturing ever can.
Moderately than chasing what’s sizzling, the Orlando native builds one thing sincere. His music feels recent, sincere and generally slightly uncooked. Whether or not it’s a sluggish jam or a mid-tempo experience, there’s a quiet confidence to his work that pulls you in.
Falls isn’t attempting to suit right into a field. He’s making his personal lane, one observe at a time — and doing it with actual coronary heart. After the discharge of LVRS PARADISE (SIDE A), Rap-Up caught up with the R&B artist to debate the two-part undertaking, the influences on his sound, his inventive course of and a lot extra.
What sort of experience are you taking your listeners on with LVRS PARADISE (SIDE A)?
It is extra so an expertise. The album actually talks lots in regards to the good and unhealthy of affection, as a result of, clearly, I am not good. I bought my trials and tribulations…It is the moments that I am good at it, the moments that I am unhealthy at it [and] the moments I am even lustful for it. So, it sort of dives into all of that!
What made you break up the undertaking into two elements?
It was sort of like a enterprise transfer, to be sincere. The widespread downside with my followers was that they had been at all times like, “Hey, we wish extra music.” So, I made a decision [in 2025], as an alternative of giving them an album unexpectedly, [when] later within the 12 months [they’ll] need extra music, I am gonna give it to them in doses — the place I give them 9 [songs] after which I give them 9 [more] later within the 12 months, most likely round like August, or some s**t like that.
Is it going to be a special vibe for the B-side, or are you solely breaking apart the undertaking to feed your followers’ starvation for brand spanking new music?
Nah, it is undoubtedly gonna be barely completely different. I sort of wrote…nearly all of [the first half] on my own. [For] the second half, I used to be with my boys in Los Angeles for like a month. My in-house producers, Luxurious Lane… we sort of all wrote the second half of the album collectively. So, it is undoubtedly slightly completely different on the on the B-side, however it’s nonetheless on the earth.
How does LVRS PARADISE replicate the place you might be proper now, emotionally and artistically?
I feel it exhibits loads of progress. I bought songs on there like “GET YA MONEY” which communicate on the place I’m proper now in life. I’ve a line in there the place it says, “They are saying cash gonna change me, and I hope it does.” It is extra so, like, I am actually simply attending to it at this level in my profession, and I wished to talk on that in this album, and what I have been coping with as changing into increasingly [famous]. It is simply the ladies are completely different. The experiences are completely different with them. It is a very completely different expertise from being only a man that makes music in Florida, simply a mean dude, all the things’s lots completely different. So, it speaks on a few of that, and [also] me determining love and simply navigating that basically!
You are actually giving R&B its personal South Florida bounce. Is that intentional? How did that come about?
Yeah, it is tremendous intentional. I feel Florida raised me, [and] what we [were] raised on, majority of the world wasn’t raised on. We had Outkast and Trick Daddy and Trina and all a majority of these folks. Kodak [Black] has closely influenced me, too. There’s loads of tradition there that does not truly get trickled over into R&B, and for me personally, I feel since I used to be raised on that, [I] may as properly have parts of that in my music. So, loads of the time I prefer to have my 808’s knocking and my drums to hit and stuff like that relating to bringing that affect into my music.
Being Haitian and Puerto Rican, how do these cultures present up in your melodies, your visuals and even the best way you inform tales in your music?
I wasn’t actually raised across the Haitian a part of my household. I used to be extra so raised across the Latin [American] facet of my household, and I feel I actually dive deep into that, to be sincere. Loads of the sounds I gravitate towards are extra Latin, like Latin guitars and our nylon guitars that sort of have that Spanish feeling to it, which could be very Caribbean throughout the board.
What’s your favourite characteristic on LVRS PARADISE?
I feel it [has] to be Alex Isley! She’s on Facet B, she’s not on Facet A. For facet B, it is Alex Isley [and] for Facet A it is gotta be “BUTTERFLIES” with Joyce Wrice. However yeah, simply the collaboration… that woman so damned dope! Her tone would remind me of Brandy and s**t like that. It is clean. Within the inventive course of, we completed that track whereas I used to be on tour. So, it was like a special expertise than being on the crib recording music, which undoubtedly made it extra impactful for me [as] a reminiscence. However yeah, Alex Isley, simply because that woman is proficient on Facet B. That woman is extraordinarily proficient.
Who’s nonetheless on the dream checklist? Is there anybody you are manifesting a session or collaboration with?
Yeah, Jorja Smith, Cleo Sol, Coco Jones, too. I’d like to work with Coco. Sexyy, I need to work with Sexyy Pink so rattling unhealthy.
That may be one of the best of each worlds.
Thats what I am saying! We’ll have it turnt and fairly on the similar time. Yeah, we’ll make it occur. Then there’s Miguel, on the male facet, Miguel can be superb to work with. However yeah, that is actually it.
“FLORIDA BABY” actually cracked one thing open when it went viral. What do you keep in mind about that second when it went viral?
The largest a part of it was everybody getting in line, doing what they bought to do to get s**t going. Videographers, all people, similar to folks we have been related with for thus a few years, working off of simply the thought of being the place we need to be, after which for it to lastly begin to occur. Everybody did precisely what they wanted to do. That was sort of like a fantastic second to look at. It was dope!
You keep very near the inventive course of — writing, producing and doing inventive path with Luxurious Lane. What does being hands-on actually seem like in your world?
9 occasions out of 10, it is simply executing my imaginative and prescient. I’ve to be hands-on after I actually need to get the purpose throughout of what I would like for myself. I feel for me personally, being hands-on [in] each side helps [me] inform my story to one of the best of my skill. Simply because I’ve a hand in all the things, it is as a lot me as it’s the rest.
Has there ever been a second, beat or idea that you just virtually scrapped however ended up being a fan favourite?
Yeah, for positive. I feel it was the hook [for] “GOLD ON MY TEETH” — the “Let’s simply fall in love” half. I virtually rewrote it, after which I saved pondering to myself. I performed it for a number of ladies, and so they all sang that half again to me, and I used to be like, “Okay, yeah, hell no, I am tripping.”
You bought your followers feeling like they’re part of your inventive course of. Not like loads of these artists, you actually construct your fan base. What was the wildest or most touching DM or a remark that you have gotten from a fan?
I had somebody fly to my Toronto present from [the] Dominican Republic, and he did not communicate a lick of English, however he was sitting there crying and singing each lyric. That was lovely to see, for me to affect somebody that is not even singing the identical language, to the extent [that] it was undoubtedly an impactful second for me.
What does the following chapter sound like for you? Is there something that you just’re attempting to experiment with sonically or visually that you have not but? Give us some tea.
Completely. I feel y’all going to be very excited. Facet A is, is superb, however the place my coronary heart is correct now could be Facet B, so I am excited to only give y’all that music as properly. It’s extremely, very clean. I can examine it to a crimson glass of wine — very, very clean, laid-back playa s**t, actually, and it is nonetheless speaking about love, and it is gonna be attractive. It is a good mix of the 2 worlds. It is clean. That is one of the best ways to clarify it.
I simply love that you have not misplaced the unique artwork and aspect of making music and advertising music and constructing your fan base. I am excited for Facet A and Facet B.
I admire you, Mama. Thanks very a lot.
