Tsui Hark’s masterpiece ‘Shanghai Blues’ is returning to theaters with a fortieth anniversary 4K restoration, starting June 20, 2025, type Movie Motion.
In 1937, after The Second Sino-Japanese Conflict breaks out, a soldier and a younger girl have an ungainly meet cute in darkness underneath a bridge as they search refuge throughout a bomb raid. Though they will’t see one another’s faces they promise to satisfy once more after the mud settles. Ten years later the soldier, now a burgeoning songwriter and tuba-player in a marching band, is again on the town desperately looking for his would-be soulmate. As destiny would have it they find yourself residing in the identical constructing unbeknownst to one another. Via a collection of mishaps he errors her new ingénue roommate for his love curiosity and wacky love triangle hijinks ensue.
