The Mars Volta have launched their new album, Lucro sucio; Los ojos del vacio. Stream it beneath.
Lucro sucio has been described as an “atmospheric and moody” album during which Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala revisit their roots by mixing the band’s “signature sound with jazz and electronica influences, celebrating their origins whereas pushing ahead with contemporary improvements.”
Forward of its launch, some followers obtained an early preview of the album. The group carried out the LP in its entirety each evening as a supporting act on Deftones’ lately concluded spring North American tour, whereas Bixler-Zavala reportedly gifted a supply employee who introduced meals to The Mars Volta’s lodge with a burned CD-R advance copy of the album.
